NauticEd offers an innovative, alternative approach to sail training by embracing the new possibilities offered by modern technology. Far from being just an online course, it is a system integrating theory teaching, knowledge testing and practical assessments with logged experience to produce competent sailors with internationally accepted certification.

Charter companies realize that sailing competence is not achieved in a week’s training course during a limited weather window. NauticEd have stepped in to provide competence based training.
All Mediterranean port authorities and global yacht charter companies trust the NauticEd sailing license – the SLC – as valid for skippering a yacht on a bareboat charter. They also require a resume, and favor the NauticEd resume for its authenticated entry system. Start yours now (FREE for life) to keep all your records together in one easy to find place in the cloud!
Distinguishing advantages of the NauticEd system:
- Free online logbook with easy data capturing and optional automatic capturing (free for anyone, just sign up here to get yours now!)
- Online logbook integrates into sailing qualification
- Get two free courses. Even seasoned sailors will benefit! Just sign up now!
- Learn theory and practical at your own pace
- No theory test date stress! Do the online theory tests in your own time and repeat as required!
- No practical test date stress! Work with your NauticEd instructor and get signed off progressively as you feel comfortable of your own competence as you progress in your own time.
- Focus on the practical and really applicable aspects of sailing, e.g. sail trim, catamaran sailing, maneuvering under power, spinnaker trim, electronic navigation, bareboat chartering are are barely touched on in traditional sailing curriculums!

The online training is provided in courses which focus on individual topics. You can do one course at a time, or buy a bundle of courses, or buy a monthly access to all courses. Once you have…
- completed the online courses
- passed the practical assessments, and
- logged the required experience
…for a certain rank, your online qualification certificate updates immediately.
Your resume also updates live as you build experience and gain qualifications, so you always have the latest up-to-date version conveniently at hand.
